Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injectable medication developed by Eli Lilly that acts as a dual agonist for GLP-1 and GIP receptors. It is marketed under two primary brand names: Mounjaro for improving glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, and Zepbound for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related comorbidity, as well as for treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults with obesity.
